2016: This is my newest work. It focuses on the notion of transformation in our lives.
Each of us experience a moment, a turning point in our lives when everything changes. Maybe we met our future spouse for the first time. Or we accepted a job requiring a transfer. Or, as in my case, I stopped -- very abruptly -- behavior that was destroying my young life. My intent with this series is to describe what it was like both before and after my transformation. My hope is that you might see yourself in one of these images -- that something here will resonate with you.
I present these first 12 as a grouping. I show them this way in hopes that you can see that each painting can be hung in different ways or in multiple groupings -- any way you desire. If you are interested in closeups and descriptions of each painting, _CLICK HERE and you'll be taken to a new page. Each of these are 10" x 10" and are painted with cold wax and oil. All twelve have RECENTLY sold to one collector.
The second part of the Transformation Series is where I tap into more of my current life, 30+ years after my original transformation. A different color palette and a lighter touch serve to convey the message of a different place in time. These are 12" x 12", are $140 each, are painted in cold wax and also include the frame. Click on each for a closer up, full view.
The third part of the Transformation Series is a continuation of the six, above. However, they are rendered utilizing the encaustic medium. In working my way to this final product, each of these 3 pieces underwent their own transformative, painful process. If you would like to see the evolution -- and DEvolution -- of these pieces, click here. Each piece is wired for hanging, is 12" x 12", has a 1.5" white cradled side and sells for $140 each.
