Each of these paintings is more or less divided in half. My intent here is to present a darker -- and more fearful -- first half of my life as represented by the darker colored half. Some of the "dark halves" have signposts along the way, represented by a triangular shape pointing in a certain direction, or a grid or a squiggly line. Either way, they point to something ... many times to a graphic device that represents the element that transformed my life. If you look carefully, most of them contain twelve of something. Twelve is a very important number to me. The second half is painted with much lighter colors. It is meant to represent the second half of my life, which has been much freer, easier and without fear.

Enjoy, and I hope at least one resonates with you!
