The "Before"
I found this studio through a friend, who just happens to
be the landlady. I was in her car insurance office (She has the
"ownboquete.com" building on the main road into town.) John (Good Hubby,
or GH) and I were in her office obtaining information about this, that
or the other. The WiFi at the house had been out for a couple of days,
so I toted along my laptop and asked her if she happened to have WiFi
and if so, could I use it to download emails? She directed me to a
little conference room that wasn't being used except for storage. As I
looked around, I thought "hmmm....I would really like something like
this for a little work area."
I left the room and asked her if I could rent it. After some back and forth about what I'd use it for, she checked with her partner and called me a few days later. "C'mon to the office and let's talk." GH and I went to her place where she said "My partner and I don't want to give up the conference room for your art studio, but I have another space. You know how all the 12-Step meetings are in the basement apartment below me on the left?"
"Sure," I replied. I'd seen it.
"Well," she went on, "I have another space just like that, on the right. It's dirty and it floods when it really rains hard. That's why I cannot rent it as an apartment. Do you want to see it?"
"Uh, yup!" I replied.
Here are the pictures as I saw them that day:

The "Middle"
My landlady offered me a great deal, so naturally, I rented the space. I got busy with a bucket of thick, white primer and a couple of gallons of -- get this -- "Divine Light" White paint. Love it! Any help from a higher source, I will gladly take! Here are some shots from the middle of the work project:
The "After"
While it's by no means completed, the paint, the track lighting, some furniture and storage areas have freed me up to be on my artistic way! Here are some "After" shots. Some of them were taken today,
